Synopsis

by Magaer Lennox

It is difficult to write a brief synopsis of this book. The main intent is to inspire people to feel their own heart’s wisdom. It is only in reading the book in its totality that you could truly gauge its depth and its effect. However I will attempt to give a brief outline of the book.

Being at an important crossroads in our life on this planet, it is a time to bring all the aspects of life back into balance so that we may go forward in harmony and live the fullness of our destiny on this planet.

In the book I gently challenge Western values and provide alternative views. I also uphold the traditional ways and values of Aboriginal people in Australia. Many of these understandings are common to other Indigenous peoples.

Aboriginal culture is in a very difficult position. I seek to explore options for its continuing survival. In fact the survival of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people could be reliant on the way in which they can incorporate the good things from each others’ cultures and integrate these into healthy, sustaining modes of living.

This book is oriented to Aboriginal and other Indigenous people as much as it is to Western people. Up until now there has been a lot written and published about Indigenous people but not necessarily for Indigenous people.

I explore the differences between the cultures in many areas of life including health, employment, education, law and justice, and economics. I also explore the notions of integrity, emotions, free will, reconciliation, assimilation, and reincarnation.

I do this to foster understanding between the differing value systems evident in the different cultures. Also I challenge the notion of the superiority of the Western value system. This is all done from a heart-felt perspective.

The book is channelled for the most part, and its purpose is to move and inspire people. It is hoped that all people reading the material will grow from the experience. It was not written to place blame or guilt on any one party. It was written to release the old ways of engagement between the cultures, which has now lead to a stalemate between them, neither going forward.

It is hoped that if people take the message to heart that there will be positive movement on both sides of the fence, and new and better ways are found to integrate and move forward.

Spirituality is a recurrent theme in the material. This is explained in down-to-earth ways and I have tried to make it as inclusive as possible. The lack of spirituality leads to separation and ego driven living. This is also a recurrent theme.

We are at a place now where we can’t go back to what was before. However we have the opportunity now to build something totally new in the way we live on this planet. This is dependent on the directions each and every one of us chooses.

We have so much wealth in our combined cultures but we must also discard that which no longer serves us. This is true for everyone. No one person or culture has ‘the answer’. This will only be found when we trust each other and work together.
